The South African Business Club was launched in September 1993 to provide a meeting point and networking framework for South African business people living and working in the United Kingdom, and for people who have an interest in, or business connection with South Africa.
The Club enables South Africans and those with South African connections to network with like-minded individuals and to pool resources for the optimum development of business opportunities both in the UK and abroad. To help members establish these links, an online directory of members is maintained, with members-only access.
Opportunities for networking come in the form of organised events such as the highly successful "First Wednesday" programme of speaker events, where members have the chance to hear experts' opinions on various business and other related topics. This is followed by the opportunity to network over South African wine and canapes.
The Club also organises various social events in the year, including our Annual Summer Braai, a Wine Tasting event and our Annual Christmas Party.
Our monthly Business Development Workshops promote business and personal development and educate members on a range of topics from tax, employment law and online marketing; to buying property and networking effectively.
Currently our First Wednesday events and Development Workshops are free for members. Networking opportunity is further enhanced by giving members the opportunity to invite along guests to the events for a small fee.
Our enhanced website also contains a special online members' noticeboard, where members can post comments and notices on topics of their choice and interact with members on topics relevant to them.
Our regular newsletter, provides members with topical and relevant news and allows them to provide their business to other member.
