The South African American Business Club unites South Africa's Diaspora by offering a formal networking platform to all Southern African supporters. SAABC is instrumental to business professionals intending to establish a presence and promote their commercial ventures within the USA and abroad.

SAABC is an internationally recognized, value driven organization. It's primary objective is to improve its members' market exposures and business development opportunities through regular networking events. These events boast an excellent caliber of knowledgeable world-renowned guest speakers mostly with a South African connection.

SAABC is a credible non-profit organization with chapters in major centers around the world and is constantly evolving. SAABC's source for this growth is attained through its dynamic volunteer-based committee and paid secretariat, which in turn guarantee continual membership generation. It is these associates that are unified under the Club's pledge and guiding principles of integrity, transparency and productivity.

LA and Thousands Oaks

SAABC LALALAND! Our club is made up of business professionals
spanning over 16 million inhabitants in both LA and Ventura County. Our chapters have a
diverse mix of members but as you can imagine our LA Chapter has an entertainment bias.
Our Thousand Oaks chapter boasts mainly business owners looking to network not only
domestically but both nationally and with South Africa.

The LA Chapter was the original South African Business Club. It was launched Freedom Day
(27th of April) 2003! As the Motherclub, we are really proud to see how the club has
morphed and look forward to YOU contributing to that success!

We are looking for dynamic business professionals, with definite leadership skills to
join our dynamic team and show the world, that together we can make a difference in both
South Africa and America!

SAN FRANCISCO

San Francisco chapter located in one of the most beautiful, dynamic, and diverse cities in the world. Bar the occasional earthquake and the awe-inspiring Golden Gate bridge, the city closely resembles the beauty of Cape Town with its breath-taking views, grandiose mountains plunging into the ocean, the wine country, and the mix of rich culture.

Our chapter of the SAABC was founded in 2003 and, like this region, includes a diverse mix of members. We're entrepreneurs and innovators who have come to ride the Silicon Valley waves, we work for the Fortune 500, the Big Four, we run our own small and large businesses, we're lawyers and doctors, we trade with South Africa, and we're artists, journalists, film-makers and much more.

The San Francisco chapter meets at various locations around the Bay Area. Events range from speaker forums to general business mixers. We welcome suggestions for speakers and locations.

We connect for three reasons:
1. To benefit our businesses and careers in the USA (Networking)
2. To support our trade with Africa (Trade)
3. To explore ways to support South Africa (Philanthropic)

DC Metro

saabc_dc

SAABC DC Metro Area. Our club is made up of business,
government and NGO professionals in the Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia
areas. Our chapter was originally founded in 2003 and re-launched in October 2004
at Howard University with a roundtable that featured Ambassador Joseph Huggins,
Former US Ambassador to Botswana and SADC; Derrick Moyo, Deputy Ambassador; and
representatives from the US Export Import Bank and the Small Business Administration.

The Washington region has numerous official relationships with South Africa including
partnership agreements between the District of Columbia and Tshwane; Prince Georges
County and Bafokeng, as well as between the Port Authority of Baltimore.

The DC Metro Area chapter maintains close working relationship with the Embassy
and the International marketing Council as well as other US government trade related
programs and supports the activities of the other national chapters by researching
grant opportunities and identifying potential speakers.

Our primary objective is to improve our member's market exposure and create business
development opportunities through regular networking events and supporting the trip
objectives of visiting South African professionals.

We connect for the following reasons:
• To the benefit of our businesses and careers here in the USA (Networking)
• To support our trade with Africa and South Africa in particular
• To explore ways to support South Africa (Philanthropic)
• To promote a positive image of South Africa.

We are looking for dynamic business professionals, with definite leadership skills
to join our dynamic team and show the world, that together we can demonstrate that
South Africa is Alive with Possibility!

LAUNCH OF ILLINOIS CHAPTER

The launch of the "new" Illinois Chapter was held on 27th July 2006 at the offices of the South
African Consulate. There was a lively crowd, thanks to lots of South African wine that
flowed and delicious dinner supplied. Thanks to Universal Equipment for their generous
sponsorship of food and drink.

Oregon

saabc_oregon

Pacific Northwest, home to many an ex-South African who love the outdoors
including skiing, biking and beautiful beaches. Sure, it rains a bit but we make up for
it with summer. The Oregon Chapter of the South African American Business Club has number
of very important committees including:

1. Business Networking - once a month meetings
2. Oregon-RSA trade relations
3. Raising money to fund AIDS orphanages in SA

For good or for bad, South Africa made us who we are today, it's our roots, it's our heritage.
Regardless of how you feel about the old country, this is a great forum to hang out with people
who understand you. It's also a great way for you to figure out how to give back to those roots.
There is something comfortable about just hanging out.

Please contact us if you are interested in checking us out.
