Flush the system - Drink Water

As the darker hours begin to take hold and the temptation to snuggle up with hot drinks becomes more of a temptation, it is vital that in the normal run of life that we do not negate the validity of water consumption in our daily routines.

Drink Water! It is vital that the body receives an adequate quantity of water on a daily basis. A good measure would be between eight and six glasses of water a day. Preferably, water should be subjected to a good filter system before being consumed.

Unfortunately ordinary tap water in major cities have been proven to contain harmful bacteria's and foreign chemicals that when taken in adequate quantities on a regular basis can break down the immune system of the body.

The body loses approximately1.5 litres of water on a daily basis. This needs to be replaced to keep the vital organs operating at maximum levels.

This consumption does not include liquids like tea, coffee, cool drinks or soups.
As these are dehydrating fluids, which for every cup consumed, approximately two cups of water are lost. This needs t o be replaced to ensure good hydration.

Water is also the best liquid to quench a thirst. Dehydration can easily set in without being obvious and can cause many side effects like premature ageing, headaches and constipation.

This is known as hidden thirst. This can take effect unintentionally while consuming different fluids - apart from water.

If the roof of the mouth is dry and stickiness is evident in the saliva, it is an obvious indication of dehydration being present in the system.

Water is necessary for the oxidation of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. Just as water is necessary to clean clothes, surfaces and our physical bodies on the outside, so too is it necessary to clean on the inside.

No metabolic, physiological or biochemical reaction can take place in the body without the presence of water.

In order to burn 100g of fat, you require the presence of 107g of water in your bodily system.

Water is the transport medium for all nutrients and body substances. If nutritional products are being consumed, make sure they are accompanied by plenty of water as this will not dilute the substance as may be perceived but rather cause it to infiltrate the system far quicker and more thoroughly.

A good discipline would be to keep a container with water either on the desk where you work, or in the car.

A few sips of water taken regularly will equal a glass or two very quickly.

For those who are aware of weight and wanting to see weight reduction, water is the answer. To quell hunger pangs, a glass of water does the trick!

So fill up with water! It is so practicle!!
